This season many cotton growers are growing soybeans as a late spring summer rotation option, some planting directly into cereal stubble post harvest. Soybeans have increased in popularity in the last couple of seasons on the back of higher commodity prices and the release of new varieties such as “Bunya” by the CSIRO in 2006 which has higher yield potential.
