Importance of Last Irrigation

To maximise the cotton crop’s yield potential, stress needs to be minimised throughout the flowering and boll filling period aim to encourage the plant to actively produce and fill bolls. There is some scope to stress the crop in the final stages of the crop’s development during late boll maturation and opening. With the final irrigation coming up, many growers are looking to save irrigation water without having a major effect on either yield or fibre quality.
