Communicating Cotton

Cotton communities along with, affiliates and industry will be kept more up to date on emerging information and technologies through the appointment of Yvette Cunningham as the Cotton CRC’s Communications officer.

Based at the Australian Cotton Research Institute, her role is to ensure Cotton CRC’s research, achievements and information is being communicated more effectively to the cotton communities, partners and industry.

Increased communication will improve community knowledge and understanding of both the cotton industry and the role it plays in regional economies.

The communication of information regarding cotton research and developments directly to growers, will lead to increased sustainability and viability within the cotton industry.

Yvette has a Communications degree from Charles Sturt University, majoring in Marketing and Public Relation. She has worked overseas in event management, within the science communication department at the Australian Museum along with a Public Relation consultancy in Sydney. Yvette has recently relocated from Sydney to Narrabri.

Cotton CRC Extension and Knowledge Manager, Letitia Cross said “Yvette comes to us with an array of experience in communications, marketing, event management and public relations.

“Yvette will bring a sound knowledge of the communications portfolios through her previous experience and excellent interpersonal skills”. Letitia Cross said.
