Trial field had grown wheat since 2002/03 cotton. Stand of 12 plants/m obtained from 15 seeds/m, planted on rainfall moisture. Temik and Chlorpyrifos were applied during planting. Crop exhibited good early vigour, with only a low incidence of Black Root Rot. Irrigation program was optimal, working on a 80 ml deficit. 80 units N applied pre-plant, with the application of 80, 30 and 30 units N as water run urea in the first three irrigations. Crop ran at 60% retention, with nine sprays applied for Heliothis, and very low presence of secondary pests. Crop reached 1.0 m in height, and had a cut-out Pix application in late January.

Defoliation included Dropp Liquid on first application, with Ethephon eight days later.
