Extension

This was the first year of trialing in this new environment. It was a relatively tough year with a wet start but virtually no rainfall through December and January. There was little difference in yield between the varieties, however fibre quality did vary significantly. The extra fibre length of the Siokra V-16BR and Sicala 60BR make these varieties the best choice for dryland planting in this area.
